We left home port in early August for a quick trip to Buffalo, New York. Covid was going strong and sailing was one of the few activities that remained relatively unaffected by the ridiculous restrictions. Our friends also wanted to come along to get a taste of what it was like to go cruising for a period instead of coming home to port every night.
We sailed overnight to Ashtabula, and then did day hops to Erie, Dunkirk and finally Buffalo. Our visit to Buffalo included a day where we rented a car and drove to the US side of the Niagara Falls. What a wonderful day of walking and beautiful sights.
Coming home, we did day trips only; sailing to Dunkirk, Erie, Ashtabula, Mentor and then back to home port.
