Welcome our our website! My wife and I are both crazy sailors and we have dreamed about living on a boat for years. We both started sailing a while ago; I in my teens in Durban, South Africa in the early 70s, and Melanie in the late 1990s. We purchased our current sailboat Southern Cross in 2004 and spent many years aboard her sailing the West end of Lake Erie. She is a John Cherubini designed Hunter 37 cutter built in 1979, a solid, heavy boat well suited for long distance voyaging.
Our dream of living aboard became a reality in March of 2017 when we moved aboard permanently and started a 16 month adventure. This site is a contact point for those interested in following us as we journey to different places. God willing, our adventures will be ones of joy, beauty and sunshine. Don’t get me wrong, I know there are going to be days when we wished we were home on land in a warm cozy bed out of the weather, but hopefully those times will be few and far between.
Thank you for stopping by – we will update it regularly with posts and pictures of the adventures of our “mobile” home.
